Discover Andrés' dynamic musical scores in Film and Television
Andrés Galindo Arteaga is a Colombian-Canadian screen composer whose music bridges folkloric acoustic traditions with contemporary electronic synthesis. Based in Toronto, he is a CASMA Award winner and five-time SOCAN Foundation Award recipient, recognized for his evocative and textural approach to scoring for film and television.
His recent work includes the CASMA-winning score for Lifetime’s thriller Trapped in the Spotlight. His compositions have been featured across other major networks, including CBC Gem (Ray of Hope), Sky History (Secrets in the Ice S3), and OUTtv (Two Brothers S2-3), and have premiered at festivals such as Sheffield DocFest, CaribbeanTales, T.O. Webfest, Blood in the Snow, iSAFF, and Tasveer. His score for Acid Wash debuted at TIFF Bell Lightbox and was showcased in TIFF’s Short Film, Big Ideas: Community Impact program.
Selected for the SOCAN Labs Scoring Retreat, Andrés was mentored by CSA winner Rich Williamson (Scarborough, TIFF) and Steph Copeland (The Oak Room, Vicious Fun). He has also collaborated with prominent composers including Mark Korven (The Lighthouse, The Witch, The Black Phone).
Andrés has shared his expertise as a guest speaker at the Canadian Film Centre, Canadian Musicians Co-op, The HOOK sync group, and the Musical Conservatory of Ibagué in Colombia. Supported by the National Screen Institute, Toronto Arts Council, Ontario Arts Council, and FACTOR, he continues to craft emotionally resonant, hybrid soundscapes that bring cinematic depth to film and television.
